Jerry A. Brockway
Easley
Jerome (Jerry) Arthur Brockway, 80, of 209 Georgetown Road, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at his home.
Born in Sanford, Florida, Mr. Brockway was a son of the late Jerome James and Hazel Mary Kincade Brockway. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and retired from Jack Eckerd Corporation in Clearwater, Florida. Mr. Brockway was a wood carver and had taught at the Pickens County Museum. He was a member of the National Wood Carvers Association and the Carousel Modelers and Miniatures Association.
Surviving are his wife, Loraine Reeves Brockway of the home; two daughters, Rita Dunn of Laurens, N.Y. and Linda Butensier of Frackville, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Virginia Matthews, of Sunset, S.C., Pattie Meades of Sarasota, Fla. and Karen Oberne of Tampa, Fla.; one stepson, Robin Matthews of Lyman, S.C.; one brother, Joseph Brockway of Philadelphia, Pa; one sister, Eleanor Miles, of Barefoot Bay, Florida; and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Brockway.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2006, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown, with the Reverend Dr. Bill Seel officiating. Escort of Honor will be the Birthday Club.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easley Presbyterian Church, 200 South First Street, Easley, S.C. 29640.
The family is at the home.
