Hi Bruce, That would make the haplog connection old enough as to be inconsequential from a genealogical standpoint. It still might be interesting from an anthropological standpoint. Recent archeology has shown that the epicenter (and oldest) evidence of the Clovis culture is not westward but in the DELMARVA area. This implies to some scholars willing to think "out of the box" that the Clovis people immigrated from Europe during ice age times. This is supported by the stone tools, extremely similar to Clovis impliments, found in western Europe of a congruent age.
In any case, q2, q3 split would be far enough back that it doesn't have bearing on John's immediate parents unless a specific line of Brocketts in Hertfordshire or Yorkshire has the same mutation.
I guess it just comes back to needing more subjects, as you said. Hope they come forward. Keep up the good work.
