Silence's sister Mary married my ancestor, Ephriam Pennington in 1667. Over the next 3-5 generations, the family gradually moved south -- first to New Jersey, then to Ashe County, NC, and finally to Lee County, VA, where America Pennington married my ggreat grandfather John Patton Graham in August 1850. The family continued to live there or just across the state line in Tennessee, until just after World War II
