I know of 6 Brocketts who have had their Y-chromosome DNA tested; 2 from the US, and 4 from the UK. The two in the US are presumable desendants of John of New Haven and their results show that they are related and are in the Q haplogroup. The 4 UK results show that 2 of them are in the R1b haplogroup(but also have Q halogroup tendencies), 1 in the R1a haplogroup, & 1 in the I1a haplogroup. More results will help us understand the origin of the Brockett surname. Adrian Brockett in the UK has started a website on this subject at http://www.brockett.info/DNA/DNAProjectaug.htm
