Susan, the following is what I posted on Brockancestry.com. I'm hoping you may be able to shed some light on this??? I've been looking for Martha Brock for some time now. She was my great-grandmother born August 1850/51 in Alabama, died 1904 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Census records state she was born in 1850-51 in Alabama or Washington County Arkansas. She was married to Adam W Dobbins. They are both buried in Ballew Springs Cemetery, Mineral Wells. There is a George Brock mentioned in our family history as well as several other Brocks. The earliest I find her is 1868 in Kansas when she married my great grandfather. The following information came from my uncle who is now deceased. I have found Willis Jasper Brock now and have his genealogy and the George Brock in Parker County TX is actually Isaac Brock:

1744: Izac and Lloyd Brock came to America and settled in Pa then went to NC, AL, GA. No record of their deaths.

1800: Willis P. Brock settled in Northeast AL. Harris Brock was in Northeast AL.

1820: Daniel Dotson (Dodson?) Watts had 3 sons; Levi, Owen, and Dotson. Daniel Dotson Watts was a descendant of John Watts, a Cherokee Indian Chief (1770).

1861-1865: Willie Jaspher Brock was captured at Gettysbury in 1863 and released in 1865. He came home to AL in 1866 and found that his wife had remarried and left with their 2 children, so the story goes. The wife thought he had been killed.

1893: Parker County, Texas: George Brock, descendant of Izac Brock was born 1811 or 1812 in NC and died 1909 in Parker County Texas. George Brock had 2 wives: Lucindy Hill was first wife and second wife was Sara Sparks.

David Brock was descendant of Izac and had a son, Aaron.

Watts settled around Ola, Arkansas.

Brocks settled around Dover, Ark in 1900.

Brocks settled around Lamar, Ark in 1899. W. L. Brock was from this group.

Brocks settled around Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 1830.

Brocks settled in Parker County, Texas around 1893.

The notes further talk about being related to Chief Redbird and that my great-grandmother was Cherokee. I have been unable to find out anything about who her parents were.

Any help much appreciated.

The early names you mentioned sound very much like the family of Frederick Brock. Frederick migrated from Switzerland to PA then VA. His descendants spread out to NC, AL, GA & other places. He had sons Lloyd and Isaac along with others. You can read more about his family at http://contentdm.lib.byu.edu/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=/FH11&CISOPTR=48552&REC=6

I hope this helps.
