Looking for relatives of Brochu's from Eganville, Ontario (near Renfrew). They changed their name to Brushey at some point. All of their children would spell their last name Brushey or Brushie. Napolean Joseph Brochu b. 1835 (Quebec) d. Eganville? married Mary Bourke b. April 2, 1846 in Ontario d. Dec 6 1927 Kearney, Ontario. They had 8 children all of which show up in the 1891 Census in Eganville. (1) Joseph Jr. b. 1869/70; (2)Olivine (Levine) b. Feb 8, 1872 married a Ryan and then a Michael Burns, d. 1918 at Rock Lake, buried in Eganville; (3) Francis Patrick (Frank) b. May 26, 1874 Eganville, d. June 7, 1877 Kearney Ontario (4) Josephine (my ggrandmother) b. Dec 12 1876, married John Joseph Kehoe May 24, 1897 at Golden Lake, Ontario, died 1909/10 (can't locate place); (5) Delphine b. 1880(?) (no one knows where she went (6) Edmond b. 1883 (lived in Hurst and was a Barber (7) Wilmer Brushey b. Mar 4, 1883 married Martha Gaskey, lived in Kearney where he died Aug 6, 1934; (8) Exeor (George?) b. 1887/88 - moved to Toronto and drove Streetcars?? Any information on the Brochu/Brushey family would be greatly appreciated.
