There are many different sources to look at including marriage indexes and census documents but first I want to be sure I am clear.
Please let me summarize to see if I have understood:
1. Alphonse Beaubien is the only name your family has ever known him by.
2. Alphonse Beaubien had a Martineau wife. Was this the first wife in Quebec, or the second wife in Ontario?
3. You believe he might be Alfred Brochu because
he had a Brochu sister. However I caution you that Brochu might have been the sister's married name.
1) you found a family with the "exact information" on the internet? Or you found a site that claimed there was an Alfred Brochu who changed his name to Alphonse Beaubien.I ask you because if you are new to genealogy you may not realize that there are many couples with the same names.
