Ed,
I have a copy of a handwritten Genealogy which appears to begin with William Broadwell who married Jane Morse on 8-21-1677, the daughter of Robert Morse. It has a lot of other info on descendants.
I am from the southern Broadwell's, and don't know of any tie in.
If you send your mail address, I can mail you a copy of this. I got it from a lady in LA who wrote a book on my line of Broadwell's.
A book is referenced in the papers, "History of the Broadwell Family of Clinton Co. NY from 1664 to 1962" by Andrew S. Broadwell. I can't make out the name of the publisher.
