I am looking for information for parents/ancestors of John Gray from Scott Co., VA. John was born about 1776 in Va, I believe his father was Walter Gray (b. 1750 in England) and a woman named Elizabeth - but I have no proof yet. John died in 1851. John Gray married Martha Patsey Broadwater in 1805. She was born about 1784 in VA. Martha had 2 brothers: John and William Broadwater. William married Polly Culbertson and moved to Missouri. John married Winnie Kilgore. I believe she had a sister named Rachel who married Wm. Bays. Children were: Elizabeth who married Robert Kilgore III William who married Nancy Green Stallard John R. who married Elizabeth Osborne Martha who married Clinton Godsey Isaac A. who married a Malvina unknown James H. who married Charlotte Osborne Walter who married Hannah Hartsock Mary "Polly" Gray who married George w. Hartsock I am descended from Isaac A. and Malvina (unknown). Isaac was a Postmaster on the 1850 census, but disappeared between 1852 and 1860 for unknown reason. Malvina and children are living with 2 of John's siblings on 1860 census. I am looking for information as to who Malvina was. Also information to verify parents and any other ancestoral information - uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc. I do have some of the Broadwater information but not alot. Would like to know names of other siblings of Martha. I show her father was Charles Broadwater. I am very confused about that period of time for the Broadwaters. Seems to be several Charles'. Perhaps a Cornelius and Guy as uncles. Would appreciate clarification if available. The information I have gathered on Walter Gray Sr. and Elizabeth is unverified but follows: (I have heard that Walter was born about 1750 in England and immigrated to America when he was 12 yrs old in the 1760s) I believe other children besides John are: Nancy, b. abt 1775 married to Ralph Kilgore John - see above Walter Jr., b. abt 1778 Isaac - no info Martha - married Jonathon Osborne Thomas Gray - no info Elizabeth - married Edward Harris Rebecca - married an unknown Hall If anyone can help me with this line, I would greatly appreciate it as I have hit brick walls. Thanks very much, Jeanie Notify Administrator about this message?
