Re; Edward Brodnax, wife Elizabeth Hall.
I am fuzzy on the Edward Brodnax/Elizabeth Hall line now as it will be part of my Vol. 3 of Brodnax which will be awhile before it is written. I am now very busy on getting Vol. 2 ready for the printer. I have nothing at this time That I can transfer electreonically.

If you feel at any time that I am incorrect on some data, please let me know your reasoning as I wish to have the correct data as far as possible. If you send me data that can be used in my books, I hope you give me consent to use it with full credit to you. Confusion results on our lines because of the destruction of so many records which makes it impossible to find clear proof on so much.

Our Hall line has also been lost. Dr. John Wilkins Brodnax (JWB,) Brodnax researcher around 1900 who planned to write the book and did write the early Brodnax data published in the Virginia Quarterlies, thought the Hall sisters Elizabeth and Ann were daughters of Thomas Hall of Prince George Co., VA and grdaus of Thomas Hall of New Kent Co. VA who was hanged by Gov Berkeley because of his part in Bacon's rebellion. Like most early researchers, JWB gave no references. He did say this Hall line was from Co. Kent in England. Thomas Hall who m. Molly Power was brother to Ann and Elizabeth Hall and could not be the father of the sisters. Check dates which prove this.

Our immigrant was William Brodnax who d 1727 James City Co., VA. He m. in James City Co. Rebecca Champion, widow of Edward Travis. One of his sons was Edward Brodnax who married as his 3rd wife Elizabeth Hall. One of their sons was Stephen Edward Brodnax who d 1840 Hancock Co., GA, and he m 1776 Elizabeth Rebecca Dansy, dau of John J. C. Danzee. This Stephen Edward is referred to in the records mostly as Edward and this causes a lot of confusion to researchers. One of their children was Martha Brodnax b c1762 VA d c1849 Hancock Co., GA m 1786 William Terrell Garland, son of David Garland and Mary Cheadle. Joanne Boswell is a descendant; Jobo@alltel.net. She is the one to contact on the Garland line.

In addition to the 4 children listed by Jourdan Muse Burke Jr. for Edward (who d 1748) as Rebecca, William, Henry and Stephen, I have also:
Ann Brodnax who m. Robert Mumford
Elizabeth Hall Brodnax who m Francis Vivion Brooking and
some have claimed a Samuel whose mother could have been Mary Brown.

Robert Brodnax b 1792 probably in Hancock Co., GA, d 1877 in Marengo Co., AL did migrate to Brazil at the close of the Civil War but he returned to die in AL. He married 1st Olive Taylor Whitaker, 2d Hannah Evans Kirven. My data shows a son of the 2d marriage was Augustus Winston Brodnax, dentist, b 2 Oct 1847 Clarke Co. AL d c1904 in Brazil. He married in Brazil Emma Luellah Norris, b GA d Americana, Sao Paulo, Brazil. They had Olive, Lela and Florence.

Robert Brodnax (b 1792) was son of John Brodnax and Martha Rivers. John was son of William Brodnax and Ann Hall and this William was son of the immigrant who d 1727 in James City Co., VA.

I am anxious to hear from all who have submitted material on the Edward Brodnax line.
