Lazarus BROADNAX-born 1867, his parents were Lazarus BROADNAX (born 1838) and his mother named Lucy BROADNAX.
I finally located a document that stated Lucy BROADNAX'S maiden/birth name was HAIRSTON.
This is monumental to me, because it took 10 years to find this type of information on her.
However, the document was a secondary document, instead of a primary document.
I REALLY prefer a primary document--so, I will keep looking for other documents stating her last name was HAIRSTON.
