Interesting that your name is Barbara - anywhere in your research have you come across another Barbara Broadfoot born about 1844 in SW Scotland and married to a William Irvine Wardhaugh - I have a wonderful family tree of the Wardhaughs -but the Broadfoots are a mystery - My Grandfather - born in 1865 was James Broadfoot Wardhaugh and a cousin of his,David Broadfoot, won the George Medal for Bravery for staying at his post, as radio operator, when a passenger ship went down on the Stranraer to Larne Ferry - I have a video from his son, Bill, showing the Pathe news from 1953 and a more recent news report when Bill, gifted his medal to the Stranraer museum. Unfortunately, Bill has now passed away so my clues have dried up - any information would be most gratefully received.

Best wishes
Kate
