Hello Mr. Tisdale,
I found your post most interesting as regards to our Fords
(Family Tree DNA Group 7http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Ford/default.aspx?section=results)http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Ford/default.aspx?section=results).
Many of the given names as well as related surnames mentioned, are familiar.
Have you found out more about your Tisdale line?
We are attempting to find the origins of our William Ford, possibly mentioned as one of 12 transportees (also Thomas Tisdale) here:
http://keithbobbitt.com/twowilliams/Cavaliers_&_Pioneers_Vol_3_James_Bobbitt_1706_Indentured_to_Nickolas_Fulghum_Wight_Co_VA_page_107.pdfhttp://keithbobbitt.com/twowilliams/Cavaliers_&_Pioneers_Vol_3_James_Bobbitt_1706_Indentured_to_Nickolas_Fulghum_Wight_Co_VA_page_107.pdf
(From Cavaliers and Pioneers, Virginia Land Patents and Grants,Vol #3 1695-1732 Abstracted by Nell Marion NugentVa State Library 1979.)
I have done cursory research on the Tisdale name in England and found renowned lawyers listed in English peerage so named. This would be consistent with the socioeconomic status deduced by the station of our Fords.
Hoping to find the origins of your line in England might point to origins of our Fords.
Looking forward to your response and thank you!
J. Houston Ford
