Hi John, Yes, Samuel Jr, mar Anne in Wor. Co, went to "the Carolina", she must have died, when he came back to Wor. Co, he had a wife named Mary...they had four children, Elijah, Solomon, Samuel, Polly, I am looking for this Elijah as he was born 1740, a close date to my unkn Brittingham b 1735/40, d bef 178d. And as he was born in "the Carolina" could be the same. There was also an Elijah in the Pitts Creek area who is yet unaccounted for, he was in Capt Pattersons Co, either Snow Hill or Pitts Creek, don't remember for sure offhand. My unkn Brittingham, no wife listed, no property or other valuables, had two sons, Elijah b 1763 and Isaac b 1765, I decend from Elijah b 1763. I have a copy of Sam Jr. inventory, but can find no Orphans Records for the children and you would think there would be as all the children were under age, the only thing I can think of is that she went back to "the Carolina" to be with her family, but maybe this son Elijah didn't go, as he would have been about 18 yrs old. He may have joined the service and stayed. There is little to no information on this family of Sam Jr. so makes me think I am on the right track with him. The two boys(Elijah and Isaac) were with John Houston and his wife until they mar and bought land of their own. Of course I could be wrong with looking for an Elijah, and I am sure I am from Samuels line, as the number of Elijahs in this line almost seals that thinking. I have about 8 - 9 Elijahs in my line. If you have any information on Sam Jr.s children, would appreciate anything you could send me.
