Desperately trying to connect somewhere! Here is my scanty info on the BRITTAIN I am seeking:
Trying to track down parents of Nancy BRITTAIN 1828-1856, mar. "Squire" Andrew J. LAUBACH, both buried St. Gabriel's Cem., Cole's Creek (RR Benton), Sugarloaf Twp., Columbia County, PA.
Trying to track down parents of Nancy BRITTAIN 1828-1856, mar. "Squire" Andrew J. LAUBACH, both buried St. Gabriel's Cem., Cole's Creek (RR Benton), Sugarloaf Twp., Columbia County, PA.Have absolutely no idea where Nancy came from-- another county, another state, another country -- ?? However, I think there may be a connection to earlier Brittains I have found buried at Derry Presbyterian Cemetery (now a Mennonite Cem.) in Montour County, adjacent to Columbia County. I believe this would have been Northumberland County at the time these Brittains were buried. Some of the names are:
Isaiah BRITTAIN b. abt. 1801; Nathaniel BRITTAIN b. abt. 1803 or 1808 (wife Rebecca abt. 1813); Jane BRITTAIN b. abt. 1803; Sarah BRITTAIN b. abt. 1813; Mrs. Sarah BRITTAIN, consort of Samuel, b. abt. 1773 (Samuel's stone was very worn, but looked like he may have been b. abt. 1770); Elizabth Ann BRITTAIN b. 1837.
