John Britton born 1755 Long Island
Posted by: Sylvia Gruner (ID *****2129) Date: July 07, 2012 at 16:58:02

I'm looking for any information on John Britton born 1755 Long Island NY. He had an older brother William, born about 1749, and a younger brother, James, born about 1763 Kingston, Somerset NJ. All three served in the Revolutionary War. John and William eventually moved to Genessee County MI where John's children had emigrated. John died in 1846 and William in 1844; both are buried at Horton Cemetery, Atlas Twp, Genessee County MI. Information I've found on the Britton DNA Project gives a strong indication that hey are descended from Richard Britton (bc 1585) of Batcombe, Somerset, England. Anyone who has any information, please contact me any time.
Thanks.
