Just ran across this posting, and found it interesting. I went fishing in records and this could be B.F. Britt, listed as Benj. on one card, who was in the 1st Regiment, NC Volunteers; Private Co. I. He is listed as having enlisted April 19, 1861 and died June 13 or 14, 1861. He is shown as 20 years old, and enlisted by Col. D.H. Hill. Died in Ship Point, Va.; says on another of his cards recording his death that he was killed in Yorktown, Va. Looks like one card says he was "represented by" Bracewell Britt, Fa. after his death. Could be Father? Hope this helps someone.
