Hello Britt Researchers,

I'm looking for information on Amos Britt, born 1832 in SC. Amos moved to Florida in the mid 1850s and he was in the First Florida Cavalry Regiment during the Civil War. In 1869 he married Ellen [Geddie]; they had 2 children: Jonah and Missouri. Amos died circa 1889.

Any help linking Amos to his family in SC and further back will be greatly appreciated.

PS. If it helps, Ellen was the daughter of Alexander Geddie (also spelled Gaddy, Gady, and Gedie) who was born in 1822 in Robeson Co, NC.
