Dorcas Bristow, 1830 census Orange Co. NC

First let me apologize in advance for the length of this post, and thank you for your patience in reading it.

Looking for any help identifying Dorcas (Darkis) Bristow/Brister, listed as head of family in the 1830 Orange County census. I am wondering if Dorcas could have been the widow of James Bristow (thought to have died before 1820 in Granville Co., NC).
No record of James' marriage or wife's name has been found.

The 1830 household consisted of:
1 female of 70 and under 80
2 females of 30 and under 40
1 male of 15 and under 20
1 male of 10 and under 15
(It occurs to me that the females of 30 and under 40 shown living with Dorcas could have been daughters, and the young males possibly their sons?)

James' children:
John, Polly, Amelia, Elizabeth, William, Samuel.
I have no dates of birth, except my ancestor William, ca. 1790.

William married Delilah Thomas in Orange County 12/25/1810 and subsequently moved to the Caraway Creek area near Asheboro, Randolph County.

There is a Dorcas Bristow, died January 26, 1831, buried in the Redding Family Cemetery near Asheboro, Randolph County, NC.

Why would an elderly woman move from Orange County to Randolph County, die and be buried there? The theory that seems to make the most sense to me is that she moved there, likely when her health declined, to be taken care of by her son and his family.

Is this a reasonable theory? Does anyone have any info that might help prove or disprove? Any advice, help, input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Ronda S. Bristow
