Unfortunately, I have no further information on Sarah or the Guess/Guest family. Her surname is spelled Guest in the G.B. Wooley book on the Bristow family, and also on the LDS site; but is spelled Guess in the reference to court records regarding the bastardy bond (taken from the book "History and Genealogies of Old Granville County, North Carolina 1746-1800").
The only potential clue I can offer you is, in the 1788 Granville County tax list, George's brothers James, John & Philemon are listed, but George Jr. is not.
There is a George Bristow Jr. listed in the 1790 census of Cumberland County, NC, Fayette district, shown as head of household with 2 males under 16 and 1 female. I have not researched further to try to determine whether this is the same George Jr. It may not be, since there is also a George Sr. listed in the same district; the will of George Sr. who was father-in-law to Sarah was probated in 1783. It is possible this is a different set of Georges, & that George & Sarah moved elsewhere.
I would assume, since George & Sarah eventually married, that the child referenced in the bastardy bond would have gone by the surname Bristow.
You might check to see who the bondsman was on the marriage bond for Sarah & George. I think sometimes relatives may have served as bondsmen.
I'm sorry, wish I had more definitive help to offer you. Good luck!
