Does anyone know if Georgia Bristol is still around? She was working on this same family back in 2001, based on earlier posts in this forum.
I am looking for help regarding a Bristol family that lived in Oneida, NY in the 1820s and 1830s, but appears to have gone west (perhaps separately) by 1850.
David Bristol (b. abt. 1781, d. 1856) and his wife and family appear to have lived in Oneida before some of them moved to Stoughton, WI, where David and at least a couple of his children died. My ancestor (one of his sons) David Snyder Bristol was born in and had children in Oneida, NY, as well as children in Annawan, IL, and then died in Valentine, Cherry, NE. His wife was Julietta Mumford. I have seen a few marriage records in NY for members of this family, but have very little information. I am especially interested in how they happened to go west separately -- David S. appears not to have gone with his parents, but several years later, after his marriage, despite being in his teens when his parents left NY.
In various posts here and elsewhere there is information that "my" David Bristol was born in England before coming to Oneida, NY, and that his wife Mary was surnamed Robinson and b. in Scotland. I would love to know the source/evidence for this information.
