Hi,
I wonder if you could help me here. GW Ownbey (George Washington Owenby) possibly had a son, Frank Alexander Owenby. Frank's death certificate lists his parents as George Owenby and Mattie C. (or O.) Bristow. (as per the widow, Nancy Ware). Do you have any light you can shed on this? It seems to me the last name was probably remembered or transcribed incorrectly and is actually Bristol, not Bristow - what do you make of the first name? Could it have been misremembered? The parents and the couple (Frank & wife Nancy) didn't live in the same state; it's probable Nancy never met Frank's parents. The middle initial looks like it could be a match (Temperance Caroline Bristol).
