Dr. John Briscoe I came from England to Marland on either a ship called the Ark or the Dove on November 22, 1633 - Mar. 25, 1934. You can see a replication of the Dove on the Internet and read lots of good information re: their trip. A priest on the ship kept historical records. He is also listed on the ship roster...see Internet...Passengers of the "Ark" and "Dove." They came to St. Mary's, Maryland. He came from Crofton Hall, England. There is a town in Yorkshire, England called Crofton...don't know if this is the origional site or not but strongely suspect that it is.
