Crofton Hall

I made a minor detour off the M6 on my way home earlier this week so that I could have a look at the site of Crofton Hall as I read about it so many times though not related to that family.

I would recommend it to anyone passing through that area as the entrance to the drive is very impressive.

There is a dairy operating from some of the surviving outbuildings and they make excellent cheese some of which I bought in their shop - Thornby Moor Dairy.

There is a "For Sale" by the turning towards the buildings but not sure which part is for sale.

I was told that the outline of the original house can be seen when there has been a long dry spell.
