Many thanks for the information. I am sorry to have been so long in replying. I lost the URL due to computer problems, and afterwards the matter slipped my mindfor a while until I found my way back here thanks to the e-mail notification of the message from Mark.
I believe we have been in touch before. If I remember correctly I sent you my notes on the origin and meaning of the name Briscoe and a short report on a visit to Crofton Hall that I made a few years ago. Crofton Hall is not very far from where I now live and I shall probably go back there soon, although there is now nothing much to see.
