My gggrandmother name was Sallie Briscoe. She was born ? December 1840 possibly in Missouri or Arkansas. She died in 1939 at the age of 98. I have a picture of her as a young woman and she looks White; however, she may have passed for White but possibly considered Black. I was told that her father's name was John Briscoe and her mother unknown. Her first husband's last name was Fitzpatrick and she gave birth to Lance Fitzpatrick,in 1880 who also looks White. I was also told that 4 of her children were possibly fathered by another John Briscoe closely related to the elder John Briscoe. Is it possible that she could have been one of the Black slave descendents from the Briscoe's plantation? We believe she had other children before the Civil War, but no one knows what happened to them. She gave birth to my ggranduncle Lance Fitzpatrick and my ggrandmother, Hettie Briscoe and her syblings after 1878. Is there a way that I can view the CBS Morning Video on the reunion at the Sotterly Plantation, Maryland? How can I request to view a copy?
Please e-mail me with information at the above address. Thank you
