5. Gerioliver@aol.com, Coles. 1. Isaac Winston was from an ancient English
family and lived at Winston Hall. He married Sarah Dabney. They had
daughters: 2a. Lucy (1724-1781) who married John Dabney and had a son named
William. Then married William Coles (1721-1781), They had the following
children: 3a. Walter Coles m Mary Darricott 3b. Lucy Coles 3c. Mary Ann
Coles(b 1742) m Maj John Payne. Among their children was Dorothea (The
Dolley Madison!) who first married John Todd and later President James
Monroe. 3d. Others? 2b. Sarah who 1st married Col John Syme and then John
Henry. Their son was Patrick Henry as in "Give me Liberty or give me death"
speech. 2c. Mary Winston who marrried John Coles (William Coles older
brother and one of the 1st settlers of Richmond, VA. He is buried in St
James Church where Patrick Henry gave his speech. Their children were Mary,
Walter, Isaac, John and Sarah.
