Joseph Neville Brisco(e) born 1843, married Modeste Ritter in 1867, Saint Landry Parish, Louisiana. Reverend Hebert, the Catholic Priest who wrote 41 books on Louisiana wrote that " the first Louisiana Brisco came from Maryland not as a slave but as an indentured
servant with the family Gordon/Gorton." Unfortunately, Fr Hebert passed away before I could ask him for details. Can anyone add to this bit of information?
