James BRISBIN / James BRISBANE [??: b. 1768 - d. 1858] (British Loyalist of Pennsylvania > Saratoga, New York > Lake Champlain, NY) married circa 1790's a sister (her DOB and given name unknown) of Mary/Margaret MCMULLEN (b. Abt. 1773 in PA); both daughters of Hugh MCMULLIN & Anne unknown. Margaret m. Bef. 1791 (lore says in PA) James O'NEILL b. in Limerick, Ireland, of Protestant faith and served during the Revolutionary War in His Majesty's Royal Regiment of Highland Emigrants (the old 84th Regiment of Foot, 1775-1783), settling in 1797 on a land grant from the crown in Hemmingford, Quebec. Of the five O'Neill children, three were born in Covey Hill (Havelock or Hemmingford, Huntingdon Co., Quebec) Canada, where also resided William BRISBIN (brother of James Brisbin/Brisbane, and who m. Salina unknown). Youngest O'NEILL of the 5, William O'Neill b. 1806) had a daughter Salina/Celina O'Neill b. 1829, married Thomas HINTON, and resided in Mooers Forks, near Ellenburg, Clinton County, NY. Nine (9) Hinton sons were born to them, most in Clinton county, NY, some baptised Wesleyan Methodist/Methodist Episcopal/Presbyterian in Quebec's Châteauguay valley Protestant Church registers. Family connections to Samuel BRISBIN, John & George EDWARDS, William & Samuel ORR, BARR, HOWNSLOW, WILSON, SMITH, et al (parish record witnesses). Please contact me or my sister, Carol Tallman Jones
