The people in Millen apparently thought they were going to be big time back before the war. Millen was a booming railroad town, so they thought they deserved their own county. It was probably pretty aggravating being the connection point for different counties too. I get so aggravated because it's easy to find family members from the same time period in two different counties, even though they were both basically from Millen.
