Tell me about it! As a teenager, I often visited my grandmother in Millen. This was, of course, years ago. I remember on strolls to 'town', we passed a jailhouse where the inmates would holler at us through the windows. One day, around midday, we decided to stroll into town. TOWN WAS CLOSED! I have never recovered from this! Coming from a city that never sleeps, it was mind boggling to find a whole town closed down in the middle of the day!

P.S. My mom went from Millen to Macon, Bibb County, Georgia where she married my father. From Macon, she went to Miami, Florida, and thence to Queens County, New York City, where I have resided for over forty years.

Thank you so much for the link to that cemetery. My family names are ADAMS, BRINSON, KELSEY, MURRAY, and SPIVEY. There are quite a few BRINSONS there I notice. That adds fuel to my fire.
