John
Many thanks for your response to my query. I know that Drury Dunn
had two sons when he died in 1811 in Hancock Co., GA - Henry and John.
I descend from John who raised four sons in Hancock County. One of
those sons was Augustus B. Dunn. While none of the descendants have
ever found what the "B" stood for, we know that Augustus B. had some
descendants who had Brinson as a middle name.
I descend from John's second son, William, who was born in 1800
in Onslow Co., NC. His second son, my ancestor, was William B. Dunn.
We never found what the "B" stood for there even though I have suspected it might have been Brinson.
We may never find the kind of proof we are looking for, but the
hints of a connection are strong.
