A number of people have been collaborating on research into the Brinsmead family with descendants in England, Australia and Canada. All link back to the Brinsmeads (the spelling has several variations) of North Devon. We have a lot of information on the Brinsmeads of Bishops Hull and other villages in and around Taunton in Somerset where the first US Brinsmeads are thought to have originated. We believe the North Devon Brinsmeads also came from the same area and that the early US Brinsmeads and the descendants from North Devon can be connected.
