This may be of interest to all you Brinley researchers for Jefferson Co. KY:
The Brinley family lived in an area of Jefferson Co. KY (Louisville) called Middletown which was settled in 1797.They are mentioned in the book "Middletown's Days and Deeds" about the history of Middletown, KY.It was written by Edith Wood in the 1940s.Some Blankenbakers also lived in Middletown and are in the book also.I recoginize Doup (that is how it was spelled in the 1850 census)from your posting also as a prominent Louisville name also and there is a street named Doup, as well as Blankenbaker Pkwy. This book mentions Jacob Brinley and wife Catherine and kids Jacob, John, Reuben, and Thomas as well as others. If you can borrow or get this book it may help.It is at the Louisville Free Public Library or the only place it is sold is the Middletown History Museum in Louisville.Their website is www.middletownchamber.com--Good luck!
