John,
Someone has called to my attention that in your posting you mention meeting "Uncle Alex" Brinkley of Linneus, MO in 1947 at the death of Charles Vernon Brinkley. We are confused since the only Alex Brinkley in my records died in 1927. Apparently he had a son Charles Alexander b. 1877. Is this the person you are referring to??
Do you still live in the Linneus area?? I know your posting was a long time ago (2000) but some of us work slowly. Thanks!
