I too am looking into America Brinkley's connection. She may be a sister to my Sara Brinkley and the man I think is her brother, Leroy Brinkley. That would make them the children of Thomas Brinkly and Margaret Minter. Thomas Brinkly and some of the Minter families moved from Chatham Co., NC to Sumner Co., TN then some went on to Calloway Co., KY and then to Gallatin Co., IL. Leroy Brinkley later went on to Kaufman Co., TX where other Minters were nearby and then back to KY.

I am descendend from Thomas Cavitt and Sara Brinkley. Their son Allen Cavitt and a Thomas Minter ended up in Leroy Brinkley's household in 1850, TX after their deaths.

These Minter and Brinkly lines all seemed to follow the same path at the same time.
