Kendall Brinkley married Hannah Davis 1817 in Sumner Co Tn with Robert Cothran/Cothran as bondsman.
this same Robert Cothran married Winfred Brinkley 1812 Person Co NC - and both he and Kendall Brinkley are in Sumner Co TN for a period of time. Robert Cothron raised his family in Smith Co TN - a neighbor to Sumner Co TN
Kendall Brinkley is found in Sumner Co TN in the 1820 census, and Davidson Co Tn in 1830. I believe that the Ann Brinkley in 1840 Hickman CO Tn is his widow Hannah.
In 1850 Perry Co Tn Hannah and daughter Amanda is living with daugther Jane Brinkley Talley, and also in 1870 Conway Co AR where they are living beside W.A. Brinkley b.abt 1820 - and is most probably Hannah's son. There is another Brinkley female beside Allen Talley (husband to Jane Brinkley) but I cannot make out the first name. I find it oddly coincidental that in that household is also the surname Castepp which is also found with the Brinkley surname of Sumner Co Tn.
I am trying to find a lead that will validate my theory that Kendal and Winfred Brinkley are sibilings.
I believe that Kendall Brinkley is the son of William Brinkley, but not the William of Granville Co. I believe he is the son of the William Brinkley of 1800-1820 Person Co NC.
Winfred Brinkley Cothron named a son Kendall Cothron, and Jane Brinkley Tally named a daughter Winifred - the coicidences are too great if you include Robert Cothron being bondsman of Kendall Brinkley.
In the 1860 Conway Co AR census, there is a Kendall Brinkley, son of Mary J., but I have been unable to locate the name of the father of this Kendall in the 1850 census.
Based on census data, Kendall and Hannah Davis Brinkly had 4 daughters and 3 sons.
I am a descendat of Robert and Winfred Brinkley Cothron and am trying to find Winfred's parents. Both Winfred and Kendal fit the census of the William Brinkley of Person Co NC.
