Your grandfather appears to have descended from the Granville County, NC Brinley's, as did me line of Brinkley's. My aunt used to work on geneology and told me years ago, before she died, that we were related to David. All of her notes were lost after she died. I have been working on the Brinkley family history in Virginia and North Carolina but have been unable to put all the Brinkley relationships together prior to ca.1800. Have tried to email your granddad but no response.
