I am seeking information on Daniel George Brinkley, born NC (where) in 1800. He may have married Pleasant Knight in 1830 in Gates Co. NC. Son William born NC abt 1831. Family moved to Bartholmew Co. Indiana and were there 1840. Wife apparently died and he and children were in Holly Springs, Marshall Co. MS by 1846, when he married Nancy Caroline Morris. Daniel was a shoe and boot maker and there is a stowaway story attributed to him that might apply instead to an ancestor further back. Daniel was ardent believer in Confederacy and disowned two older sons for fighting for North. Named son born in 1864 Robert E. Lee Brinkley. Daniel died 1880 Holly Springs, MS. Need info on older sons William and Jesse ande Thomas Ephriam. Need parents and confirmation of marriage to Pleasant Knight in 1830. Thanks-------Mary
