Rhea,
Since your Brine relatives came from Nova Scotia you might be interested in knowing that a lot of the Brines from NS were orinally Acadian (Brun or LeBrun). My Brine ancestors came from Dorset, England to Newfoundland and then to Boston. My maternal great grandmother was a LeBrun from Prince Edward Isalnd but in researching the name I was surprised to find out that the Brines in Nova Scotia were of Acadian ancestry.
