OK, everyone, here's a new twist--in brief, in researching our genealogy & in the process of tracing my grandmother's line (Pearl Hale Husband, b. Four Rivers, Michigan), married Guy Husband, Hesperia, Michigan, and died Hesperia, MI)--I followed the line I had always believed was her mother's--being Brown, or Braun (Grandma Brown)--however, in researching Oceana County history--both at Hart, MI and in Oceana County Historical Society's published book(s)--I found, in the 'Hale' section, that a Robert Hale was first married an Ida Brimmer & that their children included my grandmother--Pearl Hale--also, my mother's sister Helen (older than my mother)--may have actually been Pearl's youngest sister--now...the plot thickens--Robert apparently either died, or left, or remarried--and at this point it appears that Grandma Brown (married and widowed 3 times) raised Pearl, as well as her own girls--sent all to college to become teachers, [paid for all on her own].Grandma Brown had been of Belgian descent, (?)--and resided in the elder Hale's household for quite awhile--along with her father, or other relatives.So...now I'm off trying to re-trace Grandma Pearl's line--the BRIMMERS....from pretty much scratch. The historical society's books do refer to Brimmer's in Oceana Co., Michigan, which had a flower shop--& one of their girls may have been Ida...but what happened to Ida?Did she leave Robert Hale and remarry (I find an Ida Brimmer in charts & trees that has similar dates, but a little later--I had thought she must have died soon after Pearl's birth...but can't find death records, etc.).Being that your Ida Brimmer has the same given name, perhaps my Ida could be a descendant?Do you have any ideas? Thanks for any help.Maragret
