BRIM's in Rockingham, NC to Calloway Co., KY.

I am at a stone wall for my GGreatgrandfather James Richard BRIM and proving who his parents were. On the birth records for three of his children it states that he was born in Rockingham Co., NC. From census records he was born between 1821-25. About 1840, I believe his parents moved to Calloway Co., KY.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
