Martha Brimm, Cherokee Tribe, Oklahoma

I just sent off to NARA for the citizenship application for Martha Brimm. Found this info on the NARA NAIL service. in 1896, Martha applied for Citizenship in/from the Cherokee tribe. This is interesting to me becuase in 1879, my GGGrandfather George Brimm married a Martha E. Smith, then they both dissappeared from Tennessee. There are several records of a George Brimm in later years in Arkansas & Oklahoma. I do not know if Martha was applying for U.S. citizenship FROM the Cherokee tribe, or for Cherokee citizenship..... I should know in a few weeks, maybe. If anyone is interested please let me know.
