Found a clipping or funeral card in my grandma's Bible (Jeanette Bixler):
Bertha Briles 23 Oct 1876 - 16 Oct 1962 bd Garland Brook
From what I can find online, Bertha was Bertha F Buhler b 23 Oct 1876 Terre Haute IN, d/o Christ Buhler and Weebekie Heyen; she md 28 Nov 1906 Anderson, Madison Co IN, to Elwood E Briles, s/o John Briles and Elizabeth Young.
Bertha was in 1900 Ripon City, Fond du Lac Co WI, 1910 Anderson, Madison Co IN, and in 1930 Fall Creek, Madison Co IN.
Findagrave info for Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Bartholomew Co IN shows her as Bertha "Buhler" Briles b IN; parents: Christopher Buhler & Wugke Neyyen. Also at GB, Glorous Briles Brooks 1907-1960, d/o Edwin Briles & Bertha Buhler.
Bertha was a widow and lived at Hope, RR 2, when she died – that would be Hope, Bartholomew Co IN – and same RR as my grandparents.
Does anyone know enough about the Briles/Buhler family to know if there is a family relationship with the Bixlers? Or were they just neighbors?
