Hi, I believe the German Form of this names is the same as for my name Bringman,it was BRINKMANN.Years ago with German dialect, poor spelling,Handwriting and illiteracy it would be so easy to change Bringman to Brigman and vice versa. I have found the Bringman spelling in Netherlands Germany and England,I don't recall seeing Brigman but am aware many pronounce my name as such. It may be worth trying to find an instance where the change occured. I found that instance going from dad to son in a family in germany Brinkmann to Bringman.
