Is your Leonard the one from MD? He had property in GA.
Nancy Brightwell who married Anderson was the daughter of Reynolds. There is a document in the National Archives that bears out this statement. Giving his permission for the marriage, Runnell signed the document. Charles Brightwell signed as a witness.
On the same page, bond was made for the marriage of Anderson and Nancy. Anderson and Barnett Brightwell both signed this agreement. Are they brothers, or father and son?
There is also a statement by Anderson in his application for a pension listing his children. One son is named, and it is Runnels. In this same file, Barnett is written as Benard. Any ideas?
