Am seeking information on William Brightwell who is on the 1820 census for White county, Tennessee. Court cases and tax records have a William C. Brightwell in White county from 1811 to 1814. Also in 1815, a Leonard Brightwell was involved in a court case. Could Leonard and William be related? I couldn't find any land records for this Leonard, but the court case he was involved in, said he put up his lands and belongings as a bond for the defendent. Most census records for Tennesse in 1800 were lost to fire, and SOME records were lost in 1810. Would appreciate any help. Imogean Brightwell.
