My primary answer is "I don't know" the parents of Enoch B Brightwell. When did West Virginia start keeping death records? Have you found one for Enoch?

Looking at old marriage & census records in and around Prince Edward Co VA, the possibilities would be:

1)William Brighwell (SR) married 1800 Mary Young
2)William Brightwell (JR) married 1804 Nancy Brightwell
3)Barnett U Brightwell married 1812 Judith Boatright
4)Alexander Brightwell married 1807 Mrs Sally Carter
5)John Brightwell married 1811 Frances H Glenn
6)Charles Brightwell (JR) married 1811 Hopy Boatright
7)Jesse Brightwell married 1811 Rhoda Dodson
8)James Brightwell married 1812 Sally Dodson
9)Barnett Brightwell Jr married 1815 Nancy Matthews
10)Enoch could be an illegitimate child of a female Brightwell. (This was rare back then but it did happen: Obadiah Brightwell (1804-1860) was the illegitimate son of Oney Brightwell)

The above couples married BEFORE Enoch's 1815 birthdate and lived in or near Prince Edward Co VA. However, we can probably eliminate several of these:

2)William Jr (1784-1861) left extensive estate records and Enoch is never mentioned.
3)census records indicate that Barnett U had just one son and we KNOW that Thomas J Brightwell (b.1815) was his son.
4)By 1832, Alexander Brightwell has moved to Tennessee; since Enoch was only 17-he probably would have not been left behind
5)JOhn Brightwell moved to Georgia about 1822; 7 year old Enoch would have gone with them if he were their son
6)Charles Jr is listed in the 1830 & 1840 censuses--all the sons listed are accounted for (no Enoch)

1)William Brighwell Sr: In 1830, he had:
a)one son b.1820-1825
b)two son b.1815-1820
c)one son b.1810-1815
d)one son b.1800-1810

It is know that his two younger sons were Henry (b.1820) & Richard (b.1822) but the other 3 are UNKNOWN to me.

2)Barnett Brightwell Jr did have a son who was under 10 in the 1820 census. However, I suspect that he died young because when Barnett SR's estate was settled, Barnett Jr's two daughters received his portion of the estate.

3)I suspect that Jesse & James were both sons of Anderson Brightwell and I do not have a list of their children.

Sorry I can't help more
