I have a copy of a letter in my possession that I don't know who gave/sent it to me or how long ago. It is dated 4 June 1946 addressed to Mrs. Ernest Snow of Greer SC.

It is explaining that Tobias Byers Bright enlisted in the Confederate Army when he was 16 yrs old and that he was captured at Five Forks and prisoner of war on April 1, 1865 at Point Lookout, Maryland. That he was released on June 24, 1865.

Now, my question is was this the son of Tobias Bright,Sr and Rachel McElrath? I have Tobias Bright, Jr born on 3 Nov 1845 which would make him close to 16 when he enlisted in 1861

Or was he the son of Tyre Bright and Ann LNU? I have this Tobias born 6 May 1841 which would have made him about 20 at enlistment if he enlisted.

Did both of them serve?
