Hello, Bonnie. Yes, I did check the newspapers since the Knox County Genealogical Society is now defunct. I contacted the Knox County Library in Barbourville and spoke with a nice young man by the name of Adam. He was very helpful and found two articles that told me more about it. I also correspond with another Bright descendant and he told me that he knew all about the incident and it was over a girl Jimmy was seeing. Terrible! I can send you copies of the newspaper articles if you want them. If you email address shows up, I'll send them there. Hope it helps you. It certainly is a sad story.
